My toddler, who is now is 3 years old, has officially taken her 3rd international trip and she did fantastic, thank God! Now that she is a little older I don’t have to pack too many things like diapers and formula but only essential items that will keep her busy on the plane if she gets bored with the movies.
When thinking of what to pack for your next flight be sure to think of some of their favorite things, new toys, stickers, snacks and plenty of more snacks! Below is an example of what my daughter enjoys on long flights:
- coloring books
- crayons and markers
- sticker books
- new small toys
- Disney lipsmack gloss
- iPad filled with her favorite movies, music and games
- crackers, cookies and lollipops
I also carry a small bag of first aid items because being parents you just never know. My tiny bag consists of bandaids, Neosporin, and children’s Tylenol. I also carry hand sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer, small bottle of lysol and antibacterial wipes to wipe off our entire section. I like to disinfect our seats, armrest, tv screen, and the very dirty food tray! I swear this has helped keep my family happy and healthy.
When flying and your toddler is at least 3 years old you get priority seating without paying extra for it. As soon as they begin to board your flight be sure to listen to that first shout out from the flight attendant, this is the time they allow customers with small children to board early. We have never missed this important announcement but I’m sure if they see you standing there with a stroller they might be kind enough to push you through. Keep listening for it because they do it at most airlines!
