Should You Book a Group Tour with a Toddler?

A big question I get asked a lot is if we choose to site see with a group tour and the answer is kind of.  We have been on a few regular group tours with our daughter but feel it is better for us to pay a little more to have a private tour, trust me its never that much more, I am quite frugal, LOL!  While going on a group tour is truly awesome being the only family on the tour with a small child surrounded by tons of couples on anniversary trips, honeymooners, once in a lifetime vacationers, etc… we don’t want to be the “ones” that ruins everyones experience with a screaming child because she is bored or ran out of Cheez-its so we are always try to opt for a private tour if possible.  If you are able to find a small group tour that runs no longer than 1.5 hrs and you get to choose a good time, like right after nap time, then definitely go for it!  Those tours have worked perfectly for us.

A few key points to book a group tour:

* 1 to 1.5 hours (anymore and your child may turn into a tiny terror)

*Be diligent when picking a time slot.  Pick an early afternoon after nap time or if baby likes to be in stroller and hear the cars pass by maybe schedule during nap time.

* Think of the weather and if child is comfortable in those conditions.

* If traveling during hot months pls invest in a stroller fan I promise you will not regret it. It’s always a hit!

*Always have plenty of water and snacks.  Never ever run out of snacks!!

My traveling mantra “Always plan for the best but expect the worst” just so you have no surprises and you feel fulfilled in the end!
