Preparing for Our Big Family Trip to Japan!

I’m sooo excited to announce that this year will take me and my family to the beautiful country of Japan! I will be posting how I plan our trip from the very beginning until we get back. Please subscribe so you can keep in touch and follow us on this fun filled family journey!

In case this is your first time visiting my page I’d like to introduce myself and why we travel. My name is Vanessa and I have an amazing, supporting husband and a beautiful daughter named Cosette! Together we are the three musketeers and travel the world together. Before the birth of my sweet daughter my husband and I traveled the world and enjoyed every moment of it! After becoming pregnant, I honestly thought our traveling days where over. After 1 year of fully focusing on our daughter, adjusting to our new lives as parents and me suffering post-partum depression I knew something was missing. My husband asked me if I was ready to start traveling again and I was reluctant at first but then said you know what YES and I booked our first family trip abroad and so happy we did! Since that joyous moment of confirming our first trip I have made it a goal to give our daughter 1 new country a year for as long as we possibly can! For example, year 1 took us to France (Paris), year 2 took us to Italy (Rome & Amalfi Coast), year 3 took us to Spain (Madrid & Barcelona) and year 4 will now take us to Japan (Tokyo & Kyoto)!

Now that you know me on a more personal level, let’s get back to Japan! For our international trips I like to book our trips during the month of January to get the best possible price for an August/September trip. Booking a trip 7 to 8 months in advance might seem like a really long time but I promise you it goes by so quickly! And if you have any doubt that you might not be able to fulfill the trip you can always purchase travel insurance for a minimal fee to have peace of mind. I typically purchase travel insurance and the price can vary between $300 to $400. When choosing a day to travel always opt for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. These days are proven to have the lowest prices but don’t be surprised if you find a really good deal on a Saturday or Sunday!

Japan is officially booked so let me talk about the great deal I found! We are scheduled to travel to Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto) in August for 12 days. We will fly into Beijing for an 8 hour layover, then Tokyo for 5 full nights and Kyoto for 5 full nights. I purposely chose to have a long layover in Beijing because I want to visit the Great Wall of China and with an 8 hour layover that should give us just enough time. For a 12 day trip to Japan which includes round trip air tickets for three people, two 4 star hotels, flight from Tokyo to Kyoto and airport transportation for the fantastic price of $4100!!! Seriously, this is an AMAZING deal and if you want to know which travel agency I use send me a message!

Keep on the look out for more updates and itinerary schedules I will be working on for our 12 day Japan Adventure. YouTube videos are the best to start my planning!
