I have traveled to Europe several times and some might say I’m a bit obsessed, which I don’t disagree with because I have seriously had the most amazing experiences out there! I spent my childhood in Germany, studied abroad in Spain and learned how strong I am when traveling solo. After many years of traveling to Europe, I’ve learned the best time to travel to Europe is during their off season around September through March. It may seem obvious, I know, but you wouldn’t believe how many people choose to NOT go during the downtime season! It’s always best to go during this time because flights and hotels are much more inexpensive, tourism is down so getting into attractions is not a headache and the weather is perfect, I love the cold!
My family and I personally prefer to travel during the Fall/Winter season, late August, September or October. If we travel in the Spring we like to book around March or April. You will see a drastic difference in price, trust me!
Try to find a bundle package that includes roundtrip airfare and hotel. I use one specific site religiously and have always saved a ton! If you would like to know which one it is shoot me a comment.
Another big tip I like to share is to purchase international trips at least 4 to 6 months in advance and always attempt to fly out on a Tuesday or Wednesday from a major airport. For example, we live near Austin, TX but when we travel internationally we like to fly out of Intercontinental Houston (IAH) because our price can drop anywhere between $400 to $600 per person which an easy savings of $1200 to $1800 total! Parking is an additional fee but at about $7 a day for 10 to 12 days we still end up winning by saving a ton!
